Gargle with warm Salt water: Gargling with salt water can reduce the swelling and inflammation in the cells of the mucous membranes. Gargling with warm salt water can decrease the swollen and inflamed membranes take a glass of warm water and 1/2 teaspoon of table salt. Thoroughly mix it in salt and gargle. You can also add a small amount of honey.

Garlic: Garlic contains antibacterial and antiseptic properties and also contains many other medicinal properties which help to prevent sore throats; Garlic contains a powerful antibacterial anti-oxidant known as Allicine which kills the cold virus. Eating a raw garlic clove daily can help treat throat pain. Another option is to take a 1teaspoon of ginger powder, honey, juice of 1/2 squeezed lemons and half cup of water. Mix all of them and gargle. Honey also has mild antibacterial properties.

Lemon: Fresh lemons can help you get rid of sore throat, they help remove mucus. Take a juice of half lemon and one teaspoon of honey and mix it to one cup of warm water. You can also take fresh lemon juice, add equal amount of water top it and gargle. Another option is to take a slice of lemon sprinkle pepper and salt to it and slowly lick the lemon.

Turmeric and water: Turmeric is a powerful antioxidant, and scientists also believe that it can also fight many diseases. Mix 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric and 1/2 teaspoon of salt to 1 cup of water and gargle.

Clove Tea: Take some water, add 1 to 3 teaspoons of powdered cloves to it, mix it well and then gargle. Cloves are known for their antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, this helps to heal a sore throat.

Apple Cider Vinegar: Add some (one tablespoon) apple cider vinegar, lemon juice and honey to a cup of warm water and then drink it slowly. Do these two or three times a day to get relief from sore throat. Or you can also add one teaspoon of salt and apple cider vinegar to one cup of warm water and gargle.

Tomato Juice: Add 1/2 cup of tomato juice, and about 10 drops of hot pepper sauce to 1/2 cup of hot water. Doing so may help you get temporary relief from sore throat.

Cinnamon: Take a glass of warm water, add some cinnamon powder and black pepper to it, Strain the solution, then gargle with it at least two to three times a day. Mix few drops of cinnamon oil and one teaspoon of honey and Eat this at least two times a day to get relief from sore throat.

Green Tea: Green tea naturally fights infections. Gargling with green tea kills bacteria and helps you to get rid of sore throat.

Slippery Elm: It is a gel like substance which coats the throat, eases soreness and reduces irritation. Take two cups of boiling water, add one teaspoon of the inner bark of slippery elm to it, Let it steep for a few minutes, later strain the solution, and drink it slowly while its stills warm.

Raspberry tea: One of the old home remedy includes Raspberry tea. Take one cup of boiling water, add two teaspoons of dried tea leaves. Strain it, let it cool a bit, and gargle with it while it’s warm.

Marshmallow root: Marshmallow root contains mucus- like substance which is known to soothe a sore throat. Take a cup of boiling water, add some of the dried root and make a tea. Sipping this tea two or three times a day can help to ease throat pain.

Baking soda: Take a cup of very warm water, 1/2 teaspoon salt and a small amount of baking soda. Baking soda has antibacterial properties, Heat the water until its warm, mix one and half teaspoon of baking soda and salt. And then gargle with it, doing so will help you get rid of sore throat.

Licorice Root: Since olden days it has been used as a remedy for sore throats, take some water, add licorice root to it and then gargle with it which can help you treat hair loss.
